Le maire Ngo Bikay epse Kome Véronique Eliane dirige depuis 2020 un conseil communal de 25 conseillers municipaux.
Historique
Dibang a été un poste administratif colonial en 1958 avant d’être érigé en commune et jumelé à la commune mixte d’Eseka.
Un an plus tard, il devient un district, et a été administrativement attaché à la commune mixte de Bot Makak.
Ce nouveau bail a été jusqu’en1975. Dibang est érigé en commune à la suite d’un acte du chef de l’Etat signé en 1983. La commune de Dibang en 1994, est commuée de commune à commune rurale.

Dikome-Balue: still a long way
The Council is situated at 107 km from Douala and 36 km from Kumba. It covers 5000 km2, that is 1, 33% of the national territory. It is made of 14 villages; 1 urban space (Dikome Balue) with 7 quarters, 3 development zones: Rata,Bowedi and Nembi.
The climate is mostly cloudy and rainy. Rainfall ranges from 2000 to 3000 mm. the rainy season starts from mid-March to mid-November. While the dry season goes from mid-November to mid-March. But rain falls in Dikome Balue throughout the year. The biggest rainy period being from July to September.
It is a volcanic fertile soil rich of humus on the top soil covering the 14 villages. The relief is diversified. It is shared in between chains of hills and depressions covering the 14 villages.
Balue is the main ethnic within the municipality. It represents about 99.9% of the population of the municipality. Balue ethnic is peaceful and hard working. It has a great sense of integration.
Dikome Balue was created as a District by the Presidential Decree of 01 Mai 1992. Dikome Balue was created as a council by the Presidential Decree of April 24, 1995 and was operational only from 1997.
Main actors are farmers. It is the main activity practiced within the municipality. About 99% of the population are farmers. Shifting cultivation is the dominant agricultural system. Main actors are breeders. It is still traditional and is mostly done for local consumption.
Dikome Balue is looking to be a modern municipality, desenclaved and sanitized, with a strong local economy and high quality of standard of living. The council is working to evaluate local development, to identify its economic, social and cultural potentials, to proceed to a prospective analysis of council development and to dispose of an efficient management tool for the council.
The Council is on the path to valorize local human resources, to maximize its financial resources, to ameliorate its relations with various actors and to manage its environmental heritage in more a sustainable way.
