Les mairies constituent un espace de mise en œuvre et mise en exergue des bonnes pratiques, comme socle du développement local. Elles sont d’authentiques instruments de développement local.
A Presidential decree signed on the 29th June 1977 created the Ako council. Another decree signed on the 3rd December 1986 amended the presidential decision. The first mayor was elected on 1987.
Until 1997, Ako Council was under Nkambe council. Ako Council became a fully Council in Donga Mantung Division following a presidential decree.
It’s a council of 25 District Councilors under the lead of Mayor Tabechong Robertson Ashu.
The Social Infrastructure of the council is make of:
7 nursery schools, 45 Primary schools and 9 Secondary schools.
